New york: US stock indices opened on mixed boards today, amid mixed investor performance at the beginning of the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 126.24 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 44,245.27.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Standard and Poor's 500 Index fell 6.11 points, or 0.10 percent, to close at 6,253.64. In contrast, the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 27.83 points, or 0.14 percent, to close at 20,613.36.
