Turkiye-Qatar Relations Strengthen Through Diplomatic and Economic Collaboration.

Doha: HE Chairperson of the National Defense Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, and Chairperson of Turkiye-Qatar Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Hulusi Akar, emphasized that Qatar and Turkiye maintain rock-solid ties in multiple fields, especially in diplomatic, economic, and cultural issues. According to Qatar News Agency, Akar highlighted that Qatar and Turkiye share a friendly and brotherly relationship, with the two nations demonstrating unyielding solidarity in times of crisis, thanks to robust people-to-people bonds and the leadership of both countries. The two nations share common ground in numerous issues on the regional and global arena, and they have a unified stance on leading mediation efforts based on trust and stability through diplomacy and dialogue to seek solutions for regional and global conflicts, he emphasized. His Excellency noted the constant support demonstrated by nations toward each other in times of crisis and pragmatic policies they adopt in a consultative manner, based on common ground toward regional and global incidents, elucidating that this situation is an indication of the existing rock-solid diplomatic relationship between Turkiye and Qatar founded on mutual trust and confidence. HE Akar indicated that Qatar-Turkiye diplomatic relations marked its 50th anniversary in 2023, and successful steps had been taken to reinforce the strategic cooperation, highlighting the 13 cooperation agreements that were signed during the meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, culminating in 108 agreements. He highlighted that the signed military framework agreement would significantly enhance cooperation, as long as Qatar remains a strategic partner in the areas of defense industries, in terms of production, with a desire to optimize the current joint activities in this field through adding new activities. The responsibilities undertaken by parliamentarians to enhance cooperation, and international relations are critical to ensuring global security, st ability, economic growth, environmental sustainability, human rights, and cultural understanding, HE Akar elaborated. The world is beset by problems such as conflicts and the threat of terrorism, transnational crimes, and arms race that must be resolved through international cooperation and dialogue. Subsequently, leveraging the diplomatic skills by parliamentarians to promote confidence and understanding among various nations will help resolve crises peacefully, His Excellency clarified. In his closing remarks, HE Hulusi Akar called on the parliamentarians to pursue a proactive, fair, and conciliatory approach as the sole effective way to address daunting challenges the international community is facing and foster global prosperity.
