Ljubljana: Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob engaged in discussions with the visiting Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Shahin about bolstering bilateral relations and reviewing the current developments in Palestine.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Slovenian Prime Minister expressed his government's active monitoring of the evolving situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He emphasized Slovenia's collaboration with European partners to implement effective measures on the ground. Golob reiterated Slovenia's commitment to working alongside European allies to halt the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip and to enhance the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
Foreign Minister Shahin highlighted the urgent need to cease the conflict in Gaza, facilitate the provision of humanitarian aid, and address the treatment of Israel as a nation operating above international law. She pointed out the gravity of the situation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, concerning the rising attacks and settler violence, allegedly supported by the occupation government.
Additionally, Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon held a meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister Shahin to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral ties, resolve the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and improve the distribution of humanitarian aid in the region.
