QSE Index Opens Lower as Five Sectors Decline

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a decline of 17.42 points, or 0.16%, at the start of trading on Wednesday, dropping to 11,123 points compared to the previous session's close. The decrease was primarily influenced by losses across five sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Insurance sector led the downturn with a 0.22% decrease, followed by Industrials at -0.20%. The Banks and Financial Services sector saw a decline of 0.13%, while Real Estate and Consumer Goods and Services fell by 0.09% and 0.08% respectively. The Telecoms sector remained unchanged, and the Transportation sector saw a marginal increase of 0.01%.

By 10:00 am, QSE reported a total turnover of QR 27.881 million, with 13.131 million shares traded across 1,818 transactions.
