Doha: Major US stock indices closed mixed on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average reaching a record high, supported by optimism over progress toward ending the longest government shutdown in US history. The S and P 500 gained 0.21% to close at 6,846.61 points, while the Nasdaq Composite declined 0.25% to 23,468.30 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 1.18% to finish at 47,927.96 points.

According to Qatar News Agency, with today's gains, the Dow Jones has risen nearly 13% since the beginning of 2025.
