Qatar’s Ambassador Highlights Strategic Success of Qatari-Turkish Supreme Committee.

Ankara: The Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee has been a significant factor in developing bilateral relations, according to HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Turkiye Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani. Over the past nine years, the committee's efforts have been bolstered by the support of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, leading to the signing of over 100 agreements between the two nations. According to Qatar News Agency, HE Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the role of the committee in coordinating agreements on various levels. The foreign ministries of both countries play a crucial role in negotiations, supported by their diplomatic missions. These missions aim to explore and establish new cooperation avenues, which eventually become tangible outcomes. His Excellency underscored the importance of the upcoming 10th committee meeting in Ankara, which will include high-level bilateral di scussions and the signing of new agreements. The meeting's agenda will address mutual interests, regional issues, and bilateral relations, concluding with a joint statement. The ambassador highlighted the stable and solid nature of Qatari-Turkish relations, which have expanded to include strategic planning, trade, education, technology, and more. He noted that both countries engage in significant cooperation across various sectors and maintain ongoing dialogue through committees, forums, and exhibitions. HE Sheikh Mohammed also discussed the trade exchange, which reached USD 1.26 billion in 2023, and efforts to enhance economic ties through agreements like the Avoidance of Double Taxation Treaty and the Free Zones agreement. He lauded Turkiye's progress in economic relations with Gulf countries and the potential for increased investment. His Excellency concluded by expressing Qatar's openness to further collaboration with Turkiye, noting ongoing studies of joint projects. Turkiye remains a favored destinat ion for Qatari investors, with numerous projects under consideration in both the private and public sectors. .
