Qatari-Turkish Relations Bolstered at 10th Supreme Strategic Committee Session in Ankara.

Ankara: The 10th session of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, co-chaired by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is set to take place in Ankara, marking a significant elevation in the bilateral relations between Qatar and Turkey. This meeting is expected to solidify their strategic partnership and address important regional and international issues, while also seeing the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding to bolster cooperation in various fields. According to Qatar News Agency, the session comes as the two countries celebrate over 50 years of diplomatic relations, marked by significant developments across multiple sectors. More than 110 agreements have been signed since the establishment of the Strategic Committee, underscoring the mutual commitment to deepening ties in areas such as politics, defense, trade, and investment. The evolving partnership reflects the unique relationship between Doha and Ankara, with expectations for the meeting to further enhance their solidarity and integration. In parallel, The Peninsula newspaper highlighted the critical timing of HH the Amir's visit to Turkiye, amidst the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon. The newspaper emphasized the importance of the meeting in elevating the bilateral partnership and addressing pressing regional concerns. The session is seen as a testament to the close fraternal ties between the two nations, reinforced by reciprocal visits and high-level engagements. Domestically, Al-Watan newspaper reported on the successful referendum on the 2024 draft constitutional amendments in Qatar. The Cabinet, led by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, expressed pride in the high popular turnout and support for the amendments. The changes aim to foster national unity, promote equal citizenship, and uphold the principles of justice and the rule of law, signaling Qatar's commitment to progress and stability for its citizens.
