Doha: The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) kicked off Thursday its 2nd Annual Scientific Conference themed 'Gastrointestinal Disorders in Primary Health Care'. The three-day event gathers consultants and specialists from various Qatari public and private health facilities. According to Qatar News Agency, in an inaugural speech, HE QRCS President Yousef bin Ali Al Khater took pride in the QRCS' support of health care system through many national, social and developmental projects as the State of Qatar's key civil society organization and legal supporter in humanitarian and social work locally and internationally. These projects, added Al Khater, include running the workers' health centers for 14 years, in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), operating an ambulance fleet to provide urgent medical services and holding training and awareness-raising courses. His Excellency added that the QRCS leveraged the successful first Scientific Conference 2023 to pursue the path towards mor e development and innovation, by regularly holding an annual scientific conference with a main theme selected based on participant data and feedback. He added that QRCS' all sectors showed heroic actions within the state efforts to combat Covid-19 pandemic and provided support to national health institutions during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He pointed out that the conference adopts CPD credit hours, as determined by the MOPH's Accreditation Section.
