Palestinian President Calls on International Community to Facilitate Aid Delivery to Gaza

Doha: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas today called on the international community to intervene and allow United Nations agencies to deliver food and medical aid to the Gaza Strip. In a televised address, President Abbas urged the international community and US President Donald Trump to take immediate action to facilitate the entry of hundreds of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid stockpiled near Gaza. He described the situation in the Strip as a crime that cannot be ignored - one committed by the Israeli occupation against a defenseless people seeking freedom, dignity, and independence.

According to Qatar News Agency, President Abbas stressed that the starvation and killing of Gaza's children, women, and elderly at aid distribution points is a stain on the conscience of the international community if it fails to act immediately to stop this genocide. He called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the urgent delivery of food and medical supplies to save lives, and the release of over USD 2 billion in Palestinian tax revenues withheld by the Israeli occupation.

President Abbas added that the Palestinian people are enduring an extremely difficult period that history will record as the result of a brutal occupation committing horrific war crimes, including the starvation of over two million Palestinians facing death. He reiterated his demand for an immediate and lasting ceasefire and highlighted ongoing efforts to rally international leaders and organizations to halt what he described as a war crime for which Israel bears full responsibility.
