Doha: Represented by the Departments of Agricultural Affairs and Agricultural Research, the Ministry of Municipality, in cooperation with Mahaseel for Marketing and Agri-Services, a subsidiary of Haad Food Company, organized a guidance program on organic farming: importance and requirements.

According to Qatar News Agency, the program was hosted by the Arab Qatari Agricultural Production Company "QATFA." A total of 35 agricultural engineers and several farm officials attended the program, which was presented by Eng. Ibrahim Freihat from Al Mardia Company.

In a statement on Thursday, the ministry indicated that the program aims to introduce participants to the principles of organic farming and review the stages of organic production, from soil preparation to marketing. It also highlights production requirements, including organic fertilizers and pesticides, and explains the mechanisms for obtaining organic product certification.

At the conclusion of the program, participants put forward a number of recommendations, especially the importance of expanding the organization of field training programs and focusing on practical aspects, in addition to enhancing organic production in the State of Qatar, given its positive impact on human health and the environment.
