Muscat Stock Market Ends Higher Despite Drop in Trading Value

Muscat: Oman's benchmark Muscat Stock Exchange index closed higher on Tuesday, posting modest gains despite a decline in trading activity. The MSM 30 index ended the session at 6,024.74 points, up 18.6 points, or 0.31%, compared with the previous close of 6,006.10 points.

According to Qatar News Agency, trading value reached about OMR 56.16 million ($146m), marking a 10% fall from the previous session, when turnover stood at approximately OMR 62.43m, according to figures released by the exchange. A report from the Muscat Stock Exchange said the market's total capitalisation rose by 0.141%, reaching around OMR 32.63bn.

Gulf markets have shown mixed performance in recent sessions, as investors weigh corporate earnings, oil price movements and global economic signals.
