Jordanian King Urges Global Efforts to Uphold Gaza Ceasefire

Rome: King Abdullah II of Jordan has stressed the need to intensify international efforts to achieve a comprehensive truce, maintain the ceasefire in Gaza, and support reconstruction efforts without displacing its population.

According to Qatar News Agency, during his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome Monday, he emphasized that granting Palestinians their full legitimate rights in accordance with the two-state solution is the only way to achieve stability in the region.

The Jordanian monarch also stressed the need to resume the entry of relief aid to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of civilians, noting the importance of Italy's role in providing humanitarian assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip.

King Abdullah II warned of the danger of the Israeli military operation in the West Bank and unilateral measures, which portend an escalation of the conflict.

Discussions during the meeting also dealt with enhancing cooperation between Jordan and Italy in various fields to serve the interests of both countries.

They also emphasized the importance of supporting Syria in preserving its unity, sovereignty, and stability.

The two sides also discussed developments in Lebanon and the need to support its sovereignty, security, and stability.
