Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Home Health Care Services (HHCS) has achieved reaccreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI) for the sixth consecutive cycle. The reaccreditation, awarded following a comprehensive survey in May 2025 under the latest Edition of the JCI Accreditation Standards for Home Care, reflects HMC's sustained excellence in delivering safe, high-quality, and person-centered care to patients in the comfort of their homes, in line with international best practices.
According to Qatar News Agency, this milestone reaffirms HMC's ongoing commitment to delivering specialized medical care within the framework of the hospital-at-home model, which ensures that patients receive advanced healthcare services while preserving dignity, autonomy, and family-centered values.
HMC's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al Jalham, stated that this reaccreditation from Joint Commission International reaffirms the quality and safety of their Home Health Care Services, which play a vital role in bringing specialist, hospital-level care directly into patients' homes. It reflects HMC's commitment to delivering innovative care that improves outcomes, reduces hospital dependency, and supports the wellbeing of patients and families across Qatar.
Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation and Geriatrics, and Lead of Corporate Rehabilitation Therapy Services and Home Health Care Services at HMC, commented on the reaccreditation of HHCS by JCI for the sixth time. She emphasized the synergy between clinical excellence, compassionate delivery, and health system innovation. This service exemplifies how complex care can be safely shifted into the community while maintaining high standards of quality, functionality, and person-centered care. The teams deliver beyond routine care, providing hope, dignity, and empowerment directly into patients' homes.
HHCS was first accredited by JCI in 2009 and continues to develop its services for hundreds of patients across Qatar, including those with chronic and complex medical conditions. The services include advanced wound management, long-term oxygen therapy, and palliative care, all delivered by expert teams of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
The program has demonstrated improved clinical outcomes, reduced readmissions, prevented complications, and enhanced patient satisfaction and wellbeing.
