Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos engaged in discussions focusing on regional issues and the enhancement of bilateral relations.
According to Qatar News Agency, during their meeting, both sides concurred on the importance of de-escalating regional tensions and emphasized joint efforts to identify political solutions for ongoing crises. These efforts aim to bolster regional peace and stability, uphold countries' sovereignty, maintain territorial unity, and safeguard peoples' resources.
President El Sisi highlighted Egypt's support for all regional and international initiatives geared towards establishing security and stability in Sudan. He reiterated Egypt's commitment to Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and expressed complete opposition to any attempts to destabilize Sudan.
Regarding bilateral ties, El Sisi and Boulos agreed on the significance of convening the 2nd Egyptian-American Economic Forum this year. They also emphasized the necessity of enhancing bilateral consultation and coordination on regional issues, particularly concerning Sudan, Libya, and the Horn of Africa, to ensure regional stability.
