Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty engaged in discussions regarding regional developments through telephone conversations with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Pakistan, focusing on regional issues of mutual interest.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry released a statement noting that the discussions involved updates on the situation in the Gaza Strip. The conversations highlighted the necessity of implementing the second phase of US President Donald Trump's plan, supporting the Palestinian National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, and deploying an international stabilization force to monitor the ceasefire. The talks also stressed the importance of facilitating early recovery and reconstruction efforts and ensuring the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
The foreign ministers underscored the need for de-escalation in the region, advocating for political and diplomatic solutions as a means to resolve regional crises. They conveyed that these measures would enhance regional security and stability, protect the resources of the region's populations, and shield them from the dangers associated with escalating tensions and their potential consequences.
