Doha: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Than attended the signing of several agreements on the sidelines of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2026).

According to Qatar News Agency, the agreements included partnerships between Barzan Holdings and the Turkish company STM, Orqa company from Croatia, and MKE company from Turkiye. Additionally, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Than was present for the signing of a significant agreement involving the purchase of two frigates. This deal, valued at $1 billion, was made between Barzan Holdings and the Turkish company TAIS, intended for one of Barzan Holdings' international clients.

Several senior officers and officials were also in attendance during these signings, highlighting the importance of these agreements in strengthening defense collaborations and maritime capabilities. The event underscored the ongoing efforts to enhance military partnerships and technological advancements within the defense sector.
