Doha: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty spoke by phone with UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral relations in a variety of fields and the situation in the Middle East. Both sides shared their perspectives on the dangerous developments in the Gaza Strip, with Abdelatty reiterating Egypt's condemnation of the persistent series of Israeli egregious breaches of international humanitarian law, the latest being the targeting of journalists and medical and humanitarian operators, as well as the rejected and indefensible incursion into Ramallah City.
According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty expressed Egypt's flat-out rejection of the continuation of the Israeli crimes inside Gaza and the relentless Israeli restrictions on the flow of relief and medical aid, which led to an unprecedented catastrophic deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Strip, culminating in famine.
