Cairo: Egypt welcomed the signing of the Declaration of Principles between the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Congo River Alliance/March 23 Movement in Doha, appreciating the role played by the State of Qatar and the United States in facilitating dialogue between the two parties.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed hope that this declaration would constitute a constructive step towards achieving comprehensive and lasting peace in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The ministry highlighted the potential of the agreement to improve humanitarian and living conditions in the country and strengthen the foundations of peace and security at the regional level.
