6th Round of Longines Global Champions Tour to Begin in Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez: The sixth round of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) is set to commence tomorrow, Thursday, in Saint-Tropez, France, and will extend through to Saturday. This event will feature a distinguished selection of international riders and some of the world’s finest horses.

According to Qatar News Agency, the current round promises intense competition among numerous participants. Leading the standings is Belgian rider Gilles Thomas with 87 points, closely followed by French rider Simon Delestre, who holds 85.20 points. German rider Sophie Henners and Australian Edwina Tops-Alexander share the third spot, each with 81 points, with Henners claiming the prize money.

In the previous round, Dutch rider Harry Smulders triumphed in the Grand Prix of the 5th round of the LGCT, securing his place in the Prague Challenge during the final round, which gathers the champions from all the Longines Tours of the season. Smulders joins Abdulqader Saeed, winner of the Doha Tour, Emmanuel Camilli, winner of the Mexico City Tour, Scott Brash, winner of the Shanghai Tour, and Ioli Mitileno, winner of the Madrid Tour.

The Longines Global Champions Tour is a prestigious series held across 16 cities worldwide, beginning at Al Shaqab Arena in Doha. The tour continued through Mexico City, Shanghai, Madrid, Cannes, and now Saint-Tropez, France. Subsequent legs are scheduled for Paris, Monaco, London, Valkenswaard, New York, Vienna, Rome, and Riyadh, culminating in the final “Playoff” leg in Prague.
