4.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Western Turkiye

Kutahya: A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck the city of Kutahya in western Turkiye on Sunday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported in a statement that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Simav region, at a depth of 12.55 kilometers.

No causalities or material damage have been reported.

Turkiye, situated on one of the world's major seismic fault lines, experienced a devastating earthquake on Feb. 6, 2023, that claimed the lives of more than 50,000 people, caused widespread infrastructure damage across multiple provinces, and left thousands injured.
