Jenin: Amid their ongoing offensive for the 85th day, the Israeli occupation forces have destroyed approximately 3,600 homes in Jenin City in the occupied West Bank, resulting in a large-scale humanitarian catastrophe.
According to Qatar News Agency, the media committee at Jenin Camp stated that over 3,000 residential units have remained uninhabitable, while 600 homes have been entirely demolished. The number of displaced people at the camp reached nearly 21,000, spread across various parts of Jenin Governorate, including 6,000 in Jenin City, 4,181 in the town of Burqin, and approximately 32,000 taking refuge in the housing facilities of the Arab American University.
The Israeli aggression against Jenin and the camp has resulted in the deaths of 38 Palestinians. Israeli bulldozers continue large-scale decimation operations of key Jenin streets and infrastructure, with systematic destruction caused by Israeli tanks entering the city for the first time since 2002, the statement said.
The Israeli occupation forces are reportedly mounting their violations in Jenin and its camp, transgressing laws through breaking into hospitals and medical facilities. They forcibly entered both the emergency and admissions departments of Jenin Governmental Hospital on Monday.
On Tuesday morning, armored Israeli occupation vehicles infiltrated the town of Burqin west of Jenin, amid a buildup of military reinforcements heading toward Jenin Refugee Camp and its surrounding areas. Israeli soldiers abducted a Palestinian child from in front of Jenin Governmental Hospital following its breach and detained a hospital staff member, triggering a wave of fear among civilians and patients alike, according to the statement.
Israeli occupation forces continue to pursue a policy of home demolitions and street destruction, while notifying several families to evacuate their residences in preparation for searches and the conversion of their homes into military outposts.
