Ramallah: The number of Palestinians who have been wounded since dawn Tuesday, following the ground incursion of the Israeli occupation forces into the Ramallah and Al Bireh governorate, north of the West Bank, has risen to 24.
According to Qatar News Agency, local sources reported that seven Palestinians have been shot dead, six were hit by rubber-coated metal bullets, and three sustained injuries from live rounds. Another five Palestinians have been asphyxiated with tear gas, with the Israeli occupation forces arresting as many as three Palestinians in the embattled area in central Ramallah and Al Bireh, the sources added.
Early in the morning, the Israeli occupation forces conducted an incursion into the central governorate, reinforced by multiple elements. They imposed a siege and engaged in dispersing a peaceful protest marking the national day for the retrieval of the bodies of Palestinian victims, coupled with assaults on the Palestinians and their property.
