New york: Major stock indices on Wall Street closed mixed at the end of trading today. The S and P 500 index reported a slight increase, closing up 4.30 points, or 0.07 percent, to settle at 6,309.90.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Nasdaq Composite Index experienced a decline, falling 81.24 points, or 0.39 percent, to end the day at 20,892.93 points. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average witnessed a rise, gaining 175.77 points, or 0.40 percent, to close at 44,498.84.
