Iran Agrees to Receive IAEA Technical Team to Explore New Cooperation Path

New york: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, announced that Iran has consented to the arrival of a technical team from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the coming weeks. The focus of the visit will be to explore a "new path" for the relationship between the agency and Tehran.

According to Qatar News Agency, Gharibabadi revealed in press statements in New York that the IAEA technical team is scheduled to visit Iran within the next two or three weeks. The discussions will center on potential cooperation avenues between Iran and the IAEA.

Gharibabadi further indicated that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran is currently evaluating the damage inflicted on its nuclear facilities due to attacks attributed to Israel and the United States. He emphasized that while Iran remains committed to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the implementation of its obligations under the current circumstances necessitates a renewed dialogue with the IAEA.

Moreover, he referenced the law enacted by the Iranian Shura Council, which has suspended cooperation with the IAEA. The law sets forth two conditions for restoring collaboration: ensuring the safety and security of nuclear facilities and personnel.
