Doha: US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday, during which they discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues. President Trump described the call as excellent, saying relations between the United States and China - and his personal relationship with President Xi - were very good. Writing on his social media platform, Truth Social, he said the discussion covered trade, defense, and a planned visit to China in April.

According to Qatar News Agency, President Xi said the two leaders had maintained good communication over the past year, stressing that relations based on equality, mutual respect, and shared benefit could help address concerns on both sides. He also expressed China's readiness to work with Washington to steer bilateral ties towards greater stability.
