Blida: The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) expressed its deep concern regarding the armed Israeli incursion into the town of Blida in southern Lebanon early Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, UNIFIL stated that this Israeli action north of the Blue Line constitutes a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and of Lebanese sovereignty. The statement highlighted the importance of respecting international agreements and maintaining peace in the region.

UNIFIL reiterated its call on all parties to fully commit to the cessation of hostilities, emphasizing that the extension of state authority through its institutions is the core of Resolution 1701. It confirmed that it is in contact with the Lebanese Armed Forces regarding the incident. The incident underscores ongoing tensions and the need for dialogue to prevent further escalations.
