New york: China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Fu Cong said that the attack on Qatar constitutes a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, as well as an infringement on Qatar's sovereignty and national security.

According to Qatar News Agency, in his remarks at the UN Security Council emergency meeting, the Chinese ambassador expressed concern that the attack could further escalate tensions in the region. He stressed that military action and the indiscriminate use of force are not solutions, and that an immediate ceasefire is the correct path to save lives and secure the release of hostages.

He also condemned what he described as the deliberate obstruction of negotiations aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and freeing the hostages held there.
