UN: Israeli Occupation Exhumation of Jenin Grave Embodies Dehumanization of Palestinians

Jenin: Director of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OHCHR OPT) Ajith Sunghay condemned the exhumation of a body by the Israeli occupation army and settlers just hours after burial in the cemetery of the town of Asasa, south of Jenin in the West Bank, describing the act as "horrific."

According to Qatar News Agency, Sunghay said in a statement published on the office's account on X platform that this is horrific and embodies the dehumanization of Palestinians, as this is being witnessed unfolding throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, sparing neither the living nor the dead.

On Friday, Israeli occupation forces reportedly compelled residents of Asasa village in Jenin Governorate to remove the body of Hussein Asasa from his grave only hours after burial in the town cemetery and rebury it elsewhere, claiming the cemetery was too close to Tarsala settlement, built on land belonging to the town of Jaba' in Jenin.
