UN: Gaza Strip Faces Shortage of Livelihood Opportunities, Limited Shelter

The united nations (un) renewed its warning on wednesday regarding the deteriorating relief conditions necessary for the survival of palestinians:he United Nations (UN) renewed its warning on Wednesday regarding the deteriorating relief conditions necessary for the survival of Palestinians, affirming that the Gaza Strip is experiencing severe shortages in basic living resources and shelter due to the ongoing attacks by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF).

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the UN said it had documented several Israeli violations against civilians in Gaza since Sunday. It noted that many families who had fled schools targeted by recent Israeli strikes have returned to northern Gaza due to the lack of alternative living options and the limited availability of shelter elsewhere.

The UN reported that five school buildings housing displaced families in northern Gaza were bombed by the IOF in the past 48 hours, resulting in deaths and injuries.

It also highlighted that the IOF frequently issue immediate evacuation warnings across various areas of Gaza, forcing residents to leave their homes in advance of planned bombings. These warnings are often followed within moments by airstrikes, sometimes even beginning before residents have had a chance to evacuate.

In recent months the Israeli occupation has issued dozens of similar evacuation orders, leaving less than 18 percent of Gaza's territory available for civilians to remain in, according to the UN.

In related remarks, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric stated that the IOF's operations in Gaza have intensified since the most recent evacuation order issued on Sunday.

He reported that at least 1,500 families have since been displaced from the north and eastern Gaza Governorate, warning that dwindling humanitarian aid and basic services are increasingly depriving Gaza's population of the means to survive.

Dujarric stressed that the current situation in Gaza demands urgent action to ensure the opening of all crossings and facilitate all humanitarian operations, including the effective flow of life-saving supplies.

His comments came as the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned Tuesday that more life-saving facilities in Gaza may shut down very soon.
