Doha: French coach Patrice Carteron of Umm Salal highlighted the significance of his team's match against Al Shamal on Saturday, part of Round 9 of the Doha Bank Stars League. Umm Salal coach Patrice Carteron emphasized the difficulty of the match, describing the opponent as one of the league's standout teams this season, with consistent performances and a strong squad that currently sits in the top four.

According to Qatar News Agency, speaking at the pre-match press conference, Carteron urged his players to approach the game with caution and tactical intelligence, aiming to secure a crucial win and climb from their current 10th-place position, where they hold six points. Al Shamal's Spanish coach David Prats echoed the sentiment, acknowledging Umm Salal's strength and the challenge ahead.

He said that they understand the importance of this match and are determined to return to winning form, expressing confidence in his players and their ability to bounce back. He noted that the coaching staff had worked on correcting errors from their previous defeat to Al Duhail, focusing on finishing and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Al Shamal, now third in the standings with 14 points, will be looking to recover from their first loss of the season.
