Turnberry: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed with US President Donald Trump the latest developments in Gaza amid the famine facing the Strip's residents. In a joint press conference with Trump in Turnberry, Scotland, Starmer said they discussed the unbearable situation in Gaza, adding that it is essential to achieve a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
According to Qatar News Agency, the British Prime Minister indicated that they discussed a plan for what would happen in Gaza after the ceasefire. For his part, the US President said: "We have to get the kids fed in Gaza," hoping that food aid would reach those in need in the Strip. He noted that the EU is very engaged in helping the Palestinian people obtain food.
Describing the situation in the Strip as horrible, President Trump expressed his country's readiness and desire to support humanitarian efforts in Gaza. Prior to his meeting with Starmer, the US President made statements in which he emphasized that he disagreed with Netanyahu's claim that there is no starvation in Gaza, while Starmer described the situation there as a real humanitarian crisis.
