Abu dhabi: HH President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa engaged in discussions regarding several regional issues of mutual interest, with a focus on developments in the Middle East. These discussions centered on the repercussions of these developments on regional and international peace and security, as well as their impact on international maritime security and the global economy.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting held on Wednesday also covered bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation between the two nations, particularly in development and economic fields. The discussions aimed at identifying areas where both countries could collaborate more effectively.
During the talks, the Syrian President reiterated his condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting civilians, facilities, and civilian infrastructure in the UAE and other nations in the region. He emphasized that these attacks constitute a violation of the sovereignty of these countries, international laws, and norms, and undermine regional security and stability.
Earlier on Wednesday, Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa arrived in Abu Dhabi on an official visit. His visit aimed at discussing regional developments and exploring ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the UAE.
