Qatar Reaffirms Support for Lebanon and Condemns Israeli Actions at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Doha: In a recent editorial, Al-Watan newspaper highlighted a phone call between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Lebanon General Joseph Aoun. During the call, His Highness expressed Qatar's steadfast support for Lebanon, emphasizing the country's commitment to preserving Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Watan noted Qatar's ongoing efforts to bolster Lebanese state institutions and promote dialogue among all factions to achieve stability and prosperity. Qatar views Lebanon as a pivotal element of regional stability and has consistently supported initiatives that align with the aspirations of the Lebanese people.

In addition, Al-Watan addressed a separate phone call between HH the Amir and HE Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi. Both leaders endorsed Pakistan's mediation efforts and the significance of a comprehensive agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to enhance energy security and stabilize markets.

Meanwhile, Al-Raya newspaper focused on the intensifying Israeli provocations at Al-Aqsa Mosque, condemning the actions as a severe violation of international law and a provocation to the global Muslim community. The newspaper underscored Qatar's strong denunciation of the storming of the mosque and the raising of the Israeli flag in its courtyards.

Reflecting the sentiments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Raya emphasized the international community's responsibility to protect Jerusalem's holy sites and warned against the continuation of Israeli violations, which could lead to increased regional instability. The paper noted that Israeli actions at Al-Aqsa are part of a broader plan to alter the site's status.

Separately, The Peninsula, an English-language newspaper, highlighted Earth Day's significance, stressing that environmental health is crucial for humanity's future. This year's theme, 'Our Power, Our Planet,' calls for collective action in shaping environmental outcomes. The newspaper praised Qatar's initiatives in sustainability, conservation, and ecological restoration, reflecting a shift towards a science-driven approach.

The Peninsula concluded that Earth Day serves as an annual milestone to assess progress and renew commitments to environmental responsibility, urging sustained efforts beyond symbolic gestures.
