Two Children Killed in Landmine Explosion in Northern Syria

Al-maqbala: Two siblings tragically lost their lives today following the detonation of a landmine in the forested outskirts of Al-Maqbala village, located northeast of Aleppo in northern Syria.

According to Qatar News Agency, a statement released by the Syrian Civil Defense on Telegram indicated that emergency teams responded swiftly to the scene, conducted a thorough inspection of the area, and transported the victims' bodies to a nearby hospital.

This incident underscores the persistent danger posed by unexploded ordnance and landmines scattered across former conflict zones. These remnants of war, largely left behind by the previous regime, continue to endanger the lives of civilians and remain a major obstacle to the safe return of displaced families to their homes and communities.
