Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that the Gaza Strip is suffering from continuous bloodshed and devastation due to what he described as genocide by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians. He emphasized that this genocide must come to an immediate end.
According to Qatar News Agency, Erdogan addressed the Turkish Parliament, expressing strong opposition to the ongoing violence in Gaza and criticizing Israel's actions in the region. He made these remarks during the opening session of the Turkish Parliament's legislative period.
Erdogan reiterated his commitment to supporting Palestine, particularly emphasizing the importance of Al-Quds Al-Sharif, the first Qibla, and vowed to continue this advocacy throughout his life.
He asserted that Turkiye will strive tirelessly for the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state, based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Erdogan called upon the Islamic world and the broader international community to work towards achieving lasting peace for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
