Doha: Heritage activities and competitions for children took center stage on Friday, as part of the seventh edition of the Souq Waqif Equestrian Festival 2026. The festival, organized by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office, showcases a wide array of participants from local and international circles, including owners and breeders of purebred Arabian horses. The event is set to continue until January 27.
According to Qatar News Agency, the fourth day of the festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from children, highlighting the focus on promoting and instilling heritage values in younger generations. This initiative aims to revive the authentic heritage that is closely linked to Qatari society. The day's schedule also included several championships and competitions featuring purebred Arabian horses, alongside an auction of Arabian horses in the beauty category.
In addition to the main events, the festival offered a variety of accompanying activities. These included booths selling equestrian equipment, recreational activities designed for children, and designated areas for families, complete with seating and chairs for the public. These amenities enabled attendees to enjoy the festivities comfortably.
Looking ahead, the festival will continue on Saturday with the 15th Qatar International Arabian Horse Championship for the beauty category, which will run until January 26th.
