Al Wakrah to Battle Qatar SC, Al Gharafa Set for Clash with Al Arabi in Qatari Basketball League

Doha: Two important matches are set to take place tomorrow, Saturday, as part of the second round of the Qatari Basketball League for Men for the 2025-2026 season. Al Wakrah will meet Qatar SC, and Al Gharafa will face Al Arabi, with both matches being held at the Al Gharafa Sports Club arena. According to Qatar News Agency, the first match holds particular significance for both Al Wakrah and Qatar SC in terms of their standings. Al Wakrah currently holds fifth place with 22 points, having secured 7 wins and 8 losses. The team aims to fortify its position among the playoff qualifiers as the competition heats up and the points gaps between teams become narrower. On the other hand, Qatar SC approaches the match in eighth place, second to last, with 17 points from 2 wins and 13 losses. The team is eager to climb the standings and distance itself from the bottom of the table, highlighting the critical nature of each match at this juncture of the season. In the second matchup, Al Gharafa faces a formidable chal lenge against defending champions Al Arabi. Al Gharafa enters the game in seventh place with 20 points, earned from 5 wins and 10 losses, and hopes to secure a positive outcome to bolster their playoff qualification prospects. Meanwhile, Al Arabi enters the game in fourth place with 24 points, having achieved 11 wins and only 2 losses, making them the team with the fewest matches played so far at 13 games.
