Doha: The Shura Council convened its regular weekly session on Monday, led by HE the Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim. During the meeting at Tamim bin Hamad Hall, discussions centered around the Social Affairs, Labor, and Housing Committee's report on a proposal by two council members advocating for enhanced family upbringing and the reinforcement of national and social identity among younger generations.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Al Ghanim underscored the significance of family upbringing as a cornerstone for building a robust and cohesive society. He emphasized that reinforcing genuine family values helps fortify younger generations, consolidate national identity, and enhance social unity. HE Al Ghanim called for various agencies to collaborate in creating an educational environment supportive of the principles and values foundational to Qatari society, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030.

HE Chairman of the Social Affairs, Labor, and Housing Committee Abdulrahman bin Yousuf Al Khulaifi echoed the necessity of preserving authentic values and family connections through strengthened family upbringing. The proposal aims to shield Qatari society from negative influences and behaviors contrary to its values and to inculcate children with sound upbringing rooted in religion, morality, and patriotism.

Council members stressed the importance of the proposal's recommendations for bolstering family upbringing and prioritizing the family's role alongside other state entities. They underscored the need for decisive measures in this regard.

The Council resolved to present a proposal to the government featuring recommendations to enhance family values and consolidate national identity among younger generations. Key recommendations include providing workplace nurseries for mothers to care for their children in suitable environments, requiring nursery staff to undergo specialized training in Qatari culture, customs, and values.

The proposal also advocates raising awareness among nursery workers and nannies about Islamic values through various media, and encourages the private sector to establish training centers. Additionally, it suggests appointing qualified social workers in private schools to reflect and promote Qatari values among students and teachers.

Furthermore, HE the Shura Council Speaker decided to forward a draft law on ministers to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee for review. The session concluded with the Council receiving reports on its delegations' participation in regional and international parliamentary events.
