Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Clinical Imaging Services has integrated an advanced radiation dose monitoring program into its procedures underscoring its commitment to utilizing advanced technology to deliver high-quality healthcare, enhance patient safety, and improve diagnostic accuracy.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Radiation Dose Monitoring Program helps reduce excessive radiation exposure, thereby minimizing potential health risks, particularly for patients who require frequent imaging, such as those undergoing cancer treatment or chronic disease management.
Commenting on this, Chairperson of Clinical Imaging Services at HMC, Dr. Amal Al Obaidli, emphasized the importance of this technology by saying: "The Program allows us to maintain the highest standards of safety while ensuring that our diagnostic capabilities remain uncompromised." In addition to enhancing patient safety, the program plays a pivotal role in enhancing diagnostic accuracy. By providing detailed insights into radiation doses, radiologists can adjust imaging protocols to achieve optimal image quality. This leads to more accurate diagnoses, enabling effective and timely treatment plans.
This initiative is in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to develop a world-class healthcare system that prioritizes innovation and excellence.
To ensure the smooth integration of the new program, HMC's Clinical Imaging Services conducted extensive training sessions for its staff. These sessions were designed to familiarize radiologists and technicians with the program's functions and enable them to use it effectively in their daily practice.
Assistant Executive Director of Clinical Imaging Services at HMC, Mashael Al Ajeel, said: "The adoption of the Radiation Dose Monitoring Program supports HMC's patient-centric approach and reflects our commitment to delivering innovative healthcare that prioritizes patient safety." In turn, Operational Director of CT Scan Services at HMC, Suad Al Hamad, said: "Including the Radiation Dose Monitoring Program into clinical imaging at HMC represents a significant advancement in patient safety and diagnostic accuracy. This innovative technology reflects HMC's unwavering commitment to excellence and its dedication to delivering safe, advanced healthcare for Qatar's population through the adoption of cutting-edge technologies."
