Sheikh Jassim Qur’an Contest Begins for Female Participants with 535 Registered

Doha: The tests for female memorizers of the Holy Qur'an in the 30th Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani Noble Qur'an Competition, organized under the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, are set to commence Thursday. A total of 901 citizens, both male and female, have registered to participate in this prestigious event.

According to Qatar News Agency, the tests for female participants will be overseen by eight judging panels at the Women's Activity Centre of the Dawah and Religious Guidance Department in Al Waab. These tests will begin at 2:30 p.m., with 535 female citizens registered to participate across five competition categories, which include memorizing sections of the Holy Qur'an ranging from 5 to 25 juz'.

For male participants, the tests will start on Sunday at the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd Al Wahhab Mosque from 3:00 p.m., following the Asr Prayer, and will be supervised by seven testing panels. A total of 366 male citizens have registered for the competition. The test rounds for both genders are scheduled to continue until November 18.

The contest panel has allocated valuable cash rewards for all winners, based on their performance in each round, with the aim of encouraging a large number of citizens to participate. Special cash prizes will also be awarded to participants with exceptional recitation voices, alongside financial rewards for those excelling in each of the five categories.
