Riyadh: The Saudi Council of Ministers stressed the importance of upholding the ceasefire, preventing violations in Gaza, and ensuring the unhindered access of life-saving humanitarian aid.

According to Qatar News Agency, during its session convened Tuesday, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the council emphasized the importance of paving the way for the return of the Palestinian National Authority to assume its responsibilities in the Strip, culminating in ending the Israeli occupation and realizing the independent Palestinian state in accordance with UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the two-state solution principle.

Having weighed in on developments on the regional and global stages, the council welcomed the launch of the second phase of the comprehensive peace plan in Gaza and the initiation of the missions of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG). The council appreciated the global efforts undertaken in this respect.

In addition, the council expressed the kingdom's welcome of the ceasefire accord and the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) within Syrian statehood.

It affirmed full backing of the ongoing efforts to enhance civil peace and safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, as well as to achieve the aspirations of the people of Syria toward development and prosperity.

The council further took note of the ongoing endeavors to end the Yemeni crisis, in addition to continuing efforts toward the future of the southern cause through the Riyadh conference to find an overall perspective for fair solutions.
