Riyadh: Saudi Arabia and Turkiye have underscored the importance of intensifying relief efforts in Gaza and facilitating the opening of all crossings to ensure uninterrupted humanitarian aid delivery throughout the enclave.
According to Qatar News Agency, a joint communique was issued following the meeting between Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, marking the conclusion of Erdogan's visit to Riyadh. Both leaders highlighted the necessity to uphold the ceasefire, end the occupation in Gaza, and enable the Palestinian authority to resume its responsibilities in the Strip, aiming to ultimately end the occupation.
The communique also revealed that both nations expressed concerns over ongoing conflicts and tensions in the region, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing collaboration and joint coordination. They stressed the significance of regional cooperation and initiatives to ensure stability and peace.
Saudi Arabia and Turkiye further agreed to bolster bilateral cooperation in the exploration, extraction, and treatment of mineral resources. They emphasized the importance of international cooperation and joint ventures in critical minerals, vital for securing supply chains essential for the global energy transition.
On defense and security, the two countries pledged to implement agreements signed in defense cooperation, highlighting their desire to advance defense ties. This cooperation aims to serve both nations' interests and contribute to regional security and stability.
Regarding Sudan, the leaders reiterated their support for the country's unity, security, stability, and sovereignty. They opposed any illegitimate or parallel entities operating outside the framework of legitimate Sudanese institutions.
