Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched its Ramadan Campaign for the year 2026/1446 AH, aiming to implement a wide range of projects for the benefit of more than 300,000 fasting people during Ramadan, and year-round humanitarian projects for nearly 6.7 million people globally.

According to Qatar News Agency, Managing Director, Secretary-General of QRCS Eng. Ibrahim Hashim Al Sada extended his warmest congratulations to the Qatari people and the Muslim Nation, wishing that this spiritual occasion would bring prosperity and blessings.

Al Sada described the Ramadan Campaign as a seasonal initiative highlighting Qatar and QRCS's leading role and the deeply rooted values of giving and solidarity in the Qatari community. He mentioned that QRCS's personnel are well-coordinated and ready to implement the campaign's projects through its headquarters in Doha, foreign representation missions, and partner National Societies in host countries, reaching almost seven million beneficiaries globally.

During Ramadan, QRCS will carry out the Ramadan Iftar project, distributing family-size food parcels to 301,535 people in 18 countries, including Qatar, Yemen, Syria, Palestine, Somalia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Jordan, Sudan, and more. Recently, QRCS issued a guide to the humanitarian projects planned for 2026, enabled by generous donations from Qatar during Ramadan.

The document outlines 189 humanitarian and development projects in food security, shelter, education, health, medical convoys, water and sanitation, livelihoods, and care for orphans and the elderly. In Qatar, QRCS will continue permanent development programs supporting vulnerable groups, including relief for the heavily indebted, support for orphans and persons with disabilities, and treatment for patients.

Internationally, the number of beneficiaries of planned projects throughout the year amounts to 6,685,554 victims of disasters or crises in regions such as Gaza, Somalia, Niger, Sudan, Yemen, Bangladesh, and others.
