Doha: The Gukovsky Scientific Research Institute in Russia announced the development of an AI-based intelligent pilot assistant system, with the intent to bolster aviation safety.
According to Qatar News Agency, the new system will function as a device to manage potential risks during flight and can be operated even on existing aircraft. It aids in streamlining the assimilation of the vast amount of information received by the pilot and assists in making timely and accurate decisions, whether during flight or while taxiing on the runway, as highlighted by Director General of the Institute's Research Center, Andrey Dutov, during the Technoprom-2025 forum.
The project also includes the development of the technical vision system, which enhances human visual capabilities. It enables safe navigation in conditions of fog, night flight, and reduced visibility by generating a distortion-free image processed on an electronic display.
This system aims to foster aviation safety and reduce reliance on humans, in addition to broadening possibilities for advancing fully autonomous flight control systems, which could ultimately bring about significant changes in the future.
