Minsk: Russian President Vladimir Putin hinted today at the beginning of a stabilization in his country's relations with the United States, attributing the shift to US President Donald Trump and his administration's approach to dealing with Moscow.
According to Qatar News Agency, President Putin spoke from the Belarusian capital, Minsk, stating, "Relations between Russia and the United States have begun to stabilize," emphasizing that this improvement is largely due to the efforts of President Trump.
Putin expressed "great respect" for Trump and affirmed his readiness to meet with him, adding, "Overall, and thanks to President Trump, relations between Russia and the United States have started to improve in certain areas."
He acknowledged that while not all issues concerning bilateral diplomatic relations have been resolved, initial steps have been taken and both sides are moving forward.
It is worth noting that since Donald Trump returned to the US presidency in January, relations between Washington and Moscow have gradually improved. This has been bolstered by a reduction in US military support to Kyiv and efforts to bring both sides to the negotiating table to end the war that has lasted for more than two years.
