Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Thursday that its air defense systems shot down 50 Ukrainian drones overnight over several regions of the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry stated that active air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 50 Ukrainian drones throughout the night. The statement detailed that 23 drones were destroyed over Kursk Oblast, 11 over Rostov Oblast, six over Bryansk Oblast, three over Belgorod Oblast, and three over Moscow Oblast. Additionally, two drones were taken down over Crimea, and one drone each over the territories of the Republic of Mordovia and Kaluga Oblast.
Russia and Ukraine have been engaged in an ongoing conflict since February 24, 2022, leading to almost daily exchanges of reports claiming successful defenses against each other's attacks. These claims have not been independently verified due to the complexities of the ongoing war.
