Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index opened lower on Wednesday, falling by 29.30 points, or 0.26%, to 11,391 compared with the previous session's close. Market performance was pressured by declines across three sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Industrials sector led the declines, dropping by 0.92%. This was followed by the Banks and Financial Services sector, which decreased by 0.33%, and the Insurance sector, which saw a decrease of 0.13%. Despite these declines, several sectors recorded gains.
The Telecoms sector experienced an increase of 0.90%, leading the sectors with gains. Transportation followed with a rise of 0.76%, while Consumer Goods and Services edged up by 0.14%. The Real Estate sector saw a marginal gain of 0.05%. By 10:00 am, the trading turnover reached QR 68.672 million, with 24.454 million shares exchanged in 4,316 transactions.
