Doha: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), represented by the Sports Events Department, recently held a ceremony to celebrate and honor the participants of the inaugural Al Adaam Summer Program 2025. The event saw the presence of prominent officials from the QOC, various sports federations, and the families of participating children.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony was graced by the Director of the Sports Sector at QOC, Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al-Thani, alongside the Secretary General of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon, Sheikh Ahmad bin Nooh Al-Thani, and the Secretary-General of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, Jassim Shaheen Al Sulaiti. Several department directors and officials from the committee also attended the event.
The occasion marked the successful conclusion of the program held from July 6 to 16, targeting children aged 8 to 12 from QOC employees' families. A total of 48 children participated, comprising 25 boys and 23 girls, who engaged in various sports and recreational activities designed to develop their personal skills and introduce them to Olympic and sports values.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al Thani highlighted that the program's success aligns with QOC's vision for community sports development. He expressed pride in honoring the participants, stating that the program served as a unique platform to discover and nurture talent, demonstrating QOC's commitment to initiatives that build a skilled and experienced generation.
Parents expressed gratitude to QOC for the initiative, noting the program's positive impact on their children by boosting self-confidence and uncovering talents in a safe environment. Najla Al Khayarin, Executive Director of the Al Adaam Summer Program 2025, praised the program's success, confirmed that it achieved all its objectives, and indicated plans to expand the program in future editions.
Acting Director Maryam Al Maajaba noted that the program reflects QOC's commitment to supporting future generations and expressed pride in the positive engagement witnessed. She emphasized plans to develop the program into an eagerly anticipated annual event.
The ceremony featured a visual presentation of the program's highlights, honoring all participants with certificates of appreciation, gifts, and special awards for talented children. The organizing committee extended thanks to supporting entities, including various Qatari sports federations and the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, for their significant contributions to the program's success.
