Mainz: Mainz have announced the extension of Nelson Weiper's contract until 2029.
According to Qatar News Agency, the 20-year-old signed a new contract ahead of their second leg against Norwegian side Rosenborg in the UEFA Conference League playoff, the Bundesliga side said.
Weiper rose through the youth ranks of the Mainz academy and had been excluded from the first-team squad after refusing to extend his contract beyond 2026. He missed the team's match in the German Cup but returned in the first league match following the resumption of contract talks.
Weiper said that Mainz is also the right step for his future and that he feels at home on and off the pitch.
