Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) has launched the Iftar projects in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire to distribute 100,000 hot Iftar meals to underprivileged families, sponsored individuals, and those most in need in the two countries, as part of Ramadan "Giving Lives On" campaign. In a statement on Tuesday, QC stated that its field teams in Ghana have embarked on distributing hot meals at numerous centers in four major cities in Ghana, namely Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, and Wa in northern Ghana.

According to Qatar News Agency, Director of QC in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire, Hassan Ouda, emphasized that QC is committed to regularly organizing community Iftar projects at one of the centers in Abidjan, where the population is invited to promote the ethos of fraternity and interdependence in the presence of orphans' families, persons with disabilities, and other community segments. He added that another community Iftar will be held in the city of Ougene in northern Cote d'Ivoire devoted to residents of the area.

Program Manager at the Ghana office, Abdullah Muslim, highlighted that QC distributes Iftar meals daily to the mosques it has built and subsequently organizes daily community Iftars for Muslims, including those in boarding schools and Quran memorization centers. He noted that this year's Iftar project in four major cities in Ghana will benefit fasting Muslims from underprivileged families.
